Hamshack Hotline will begin working on new seven digit extension numbers that will replace all current 10 digit extension numbers. All we are going to do, is remove three of the zeros from your extension so you keep the same ending digits.
Examples:
If your 10 digit extension number is : 6100001345
your new seven digit extension number will be 6101345.
If your 10 digit extension number is : 5500000345
your new seven digit extension number will be 5500345.
If your 10 digit extension number is : 4200000045
your new seven digit extension number will be 4200045.
If your 10 digit extension number is : 3300000005
your new seven digit extension number will be 3300005.
When we ‘Flip the Switch’ all the users with 10 digit extension numbers will need to do, is just re-provision your phone to pick up the change.
If you are an HHUX user, you will need to manually shorten your extension number in your phones UI and save it. All passwords will be the same.
Softphone users will also need to recreate the new extension number for it to work. All passwords will be the same.
Trunk users will need to update their extension numbers in their setup configurations. All passwords will be the same.
We will be rolling out these new 7 digit extension numbers very soon, but I don’t think they will happen in the next to weeks. (At least I don’t think it will be that fast)
We will post updates here as they become available. Thank you all for your many years of support.
